I was on vacation with my family and friends 1 year ago and I remember thinking to myself why did I let get so obsessed with my food choices. How and why did I get to a point where I was giving up so many foods that I loved and enjoyed to eat?

I never struggled with my weight and I was not someone who over ate. After having my two kids I wanted to better myself and be a better role model for them. Being healthy and becoming more confident was my goal. I started out my fitness journey not knowing a whole lot. I joined a gym and became a cardio junkie. I would spin almost everyday. I walked past the weigh room and was intimated by it. Not knowing my way around and what to do I could never go in alone. I continued my cardio and started HIIT style routines. I started reading about clean eating and became obsessed with it. Within a few months everything was “bad” for me. I was eating very little and doing lots of cardio and still no change in my body and actually started to feel horrible. I was tired, moody and had little energy. I got home from vacation and decided that I need to find someone to help me change. After looking around I came across Inov8.

Kala introduced herself to me and I knew right away I was going to love her and be comfortable. I was new to IIFYM /Flexible Dieting and when I received the training program it was a whole new world to me. Kala took the time to go over and answer all my crazy questions and sent me YouTube videos on any of the training I didn’t understand. With Kala I was able to get out of my comfort zone and feel confident in the weight room. I questioned my form on squats and deadlifts so Kala recommended that I tape myself and send them to her. Not only did she responded right away with great feedback, but she took the time to video herself doing it the way she wanted me to and that was helped me out a ton.

I love all of the training programs that Kala designs for me and it pushes me to want to improve. I have finally found a system that works for me.

It is very important for me to stick to the program with training and my nutrition. I like to plan ahead by sitting down the night before or the morning of to plan my meals for the day. This helps me out a ton!! I found foods that I love to eat for each meal and during the week I switch them from day to day.

Kala has shown me how to cook nutrient dense foods that taste amazing. With the knowledge that Kala and INOV8 have provided me I am able to teach my kids about being healthy and most importantly, find a balance that works. Once I found that balance my life has truly changed. I am now able to eat pizza and have a cookie or ice cream and not feel bad afterwards. I am able to go out on the weekends and enjoy a family dinner without me worrying what I am going to eat. I am now educated on nutrition and what foods actually give me more energy and what foods will make me feel tired. I am thankful for all of Kala’s advice and knowledge.

My check-in is what keeps me accountable. I have found the best way for me to be honest with Kala is for me to type out my check-ins the night before. I don’t know my weight yet and I can’t sit and obsess over how my progress pictures look. I love hearing Kala’s feedback. She is the best role model I could ask for. After a year of dietary adjustments I got to a point where I am comfortable and happy. I do not crave any foods & we include free meals in my program weekly. The free meals for me are more about going out and just enjoying my time with out the worry of weighing my foods or questioning what is in it.

Making the choice to sign up with Inov8 has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. I love the process and look forward to the next year with Kala as my coach. Thank you again Kala for everything.
