As a single mom, life is extremely challenging. Between raising my son alone and working full-time, I rarely have time for myself as things can be quite hectic and overwhelming. I’d spent all of my life (I’m currently 31) wanting to look and feel a certain way; wanting to be strong physically and mentally with a body to prove it. Prior to working with Kala, I was yo-yo dieting and, quite frankly, obsessed with it because it’s been the norm for as long as I can remember. Eager to find what trend would work, I had tried them all: cabbage soup, Atkins, Weight Watchers, South Beach, the Zone Diet, Paleo, and then Paleo-Zone. The list goes on and on.
I knew from the very first conversation that this was going to be different. I had hired trainers before, but none of them were as dedicated and personable as Kala. Her constant commitment to make sure I was well-educated of not only the training, but nutrition aspect of the program she had me on was indescribable. I had never met someone with as much enthusiasm as her. She’s extremely educated with a passion for helping others achieve their health and fitness goals. By working with Kala, I had lost 40lbs in eight months and was eating way more than those fad diets, doing it all without restrictions! Kala taught me how to transition from the all or nothing approach to what an actual “lifestyle change” really is.
