Healthier You 101: A fresh Approach!

In my last post, we talked how easy it is to fall into the dieting cycle – and also how tough it can be when you’re trying to get out of it on your own.
I get it! A strict meal plan can feel awesome– we feel in control. We have a plan and we’re totally committed to sticking to it this time.. And that feels great! Until … we run out of “will power” and eat whatever we can get our hands on.

How can I feel in control again?

I’m always delighted to tell clients and friends who reach out to me with this very problem, that answer is simple: You just need to go back to the beginning and work upwards from there!

Here’s the thing, you need some wins under your belt. You need to feel a sense of accomplishment, even if it’s something small. The wins are what propel us into lasting change. Continuing to diet is not the answer.

In order to have sustainable and successful lifestyle practices it starts with unlearning those old ingrained mental frameworks.

A Fresh Approach

So, in order for you to have a new perspective around nutrition and exercise you must approach them in a new way, you kind of have to forget what you know. Things you may have been good at before you may need to relearn. Things that used to be easy, but are now difficult, need some extra practice.

How? By starting with an EASIER approach than you think you can handle.

What does that mean? It means don’t expect perfection. It means be kind to yourself as you put into practice some simple basics. This is what OMNI FIT 365 is all about.

I get it, starting over is sort of blow to your ego. Because we think, we should be able to do this thing. We should be able to follow this plan. We should be able to do it all. We should be able to be perfect. We should be able to do what seems so effortless for other people.

But the problem is that we aren’t getting anywhere with the old way. So, while we think we should, we’re just not. Let’s do something different! Let’s take a more strategic approach.

Let’s approach nutrition and exercise like a newbie.

Let’s seek out an approach that’s so easy we can’t fail. And at the point that we have some wins under our belt, we’ll be a thousand times more motivated to continue into the more challenging stuff.

Just because we’ve watched someone play the guitar for hours doesn’t mean we can play, too. You don’t go from beginner to a pro overnight—in anything. You have to take all the steps, even the ones that seem too easy or super unattractive.

You don’t become an expert without being a beginner first.

For many of us, we are stuck in the perpetual beginner status because we refuse to do it the right way. The slow way. The way that requires patience and space to get good at the basics again.
